Acer Swift 3 SF313-53-78UG Review And Specification

Acer Swift 3 SF313-53-78UG

The new midrange laptop in the Swift 3 Series from Acer, the SF313-53-78UG, offers the most value for your money. One aspect that will appeal to the majority of purchasers is its battery life, which will allow you to use it for the majority of the day whether you're at work or school. Thanks to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7, 8GB RAM, and Intel Iris Xe graphics, our review model performs exceptionally well. Not to mention how lightweight and small it is, making it simple to carry everywhere.

In contrast, we'll discuss why the Acer Swift 3's display isn't quite ideal for Netflix or Disney Plus streaming in this review. The laptop's bottom-mounted speakers also prevent the audio output from being really immersive. But if you can get past those few flaws and concentrate on the Acer Swift 3's respectable battery life and excellent overall performance, it is without a doubt one of the best laptops.

The SF313-53-78UG has a straightforward appearance, with a shiny silver lid that is emblazoned with the Acer logo in the middle. The laptop's remaining chassis is made entirely of aluminum and magnesium, which is how it achieves its relatively light weight profile. When you flip it open, the deck's metallic appearance complements the silver keys on the keyboard nicely. On the deck is also a fingerprint reader that supports Windows Hello.

Acer Swift 3 SF313-53-78UG Design

As previously indicated, the Acer Swift 3 (both AMD and Intel versions) weighs only 2.6 pounds, which is significantly less than the weight of the HP Envy 13 (2.8 pounds). Its dimensions are 11.91 x 9.21 x 0.63 inches, making it significantly thicker than the slightly bigger HP Envy (12.9 x 8.9 x 0.5 inches).

The Acer SF313-53-78UG has a wide range of ports.

A Kensington lock slot, a USB Type-A 2.0 connector, a headphone jack, and a battery charge indicator are all located on the right side. There is a DC jack, a USB Type-C port, one HDMI port, and a USB Type-A 3.2 port on the left side. The fingerprint reader is the little rectangle you'll see on the right side, just below the keyboard.

The Swift 3 has a single 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display that, while not the brightest you'll ever see on the market, is more than adequate for the majority of uses and several hours of streaming movies. In all save the brightest direct sunshine, movies appear brilliantly bright; otherwise, in a dimly lit room, they appear dim.

Once more, the color profile of the display doesn't particularly jump out, but it appears to at least fulfill our expectations for a typical 1080p resolution panel. The display's bezels are substantial, especially when compared to the Dell XPS 13's Infinity Edge. The largest bezel is on the bottom, but it's not bad.

Keyboard & Touchpad

This Swift 3 has an island-style keyboard with chicklet keys that are snappy and a fingerprint scanner that supports Windows Hello. The keyboard may feel a little small to some, especially those coming from a 15-inch laptop, but it is actually well-suited for a notebook this size. The black keys are backlit with soft white LEDs for better readability despite the absence of a dedicated number pad.

During routine, everyday use, the trackpad is a good size and reacts well to swipes and touches. For a few basic gaming sessions on Stellaris and Civilization VI, it also works rather well, but for any additional use, you'll need a different mouse or controller.

Review of the Acer Swift 3: Performance

With a 4.7GHz Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage, the Acer Swift 3 offers significant multitasking speed. It allows you to switch between more than 50 Google Chrome tabs and up to five YouTube videos without experiencing any slowdown. Simply told, there aren't many issues with the Acer Swift 3 when it comes to watching videos and using it in general.

Acer Swift 3 SF313-53-78UG Performance

The system runs some light gaming on Steam without any problems and maintains a steady frame rate up to about halfway through Stellaris, but anything beyond that will be difficult for the Intel Iris Xe graphics card to handle.

For a device with 8GB of RAM, the Swift 3 handles the creation of multimedia material fairly well. With a dozen or more open files and Photoshop loaded, basic photo editing may be done without experiencing any hiccups.
