Lenovo Ideapad 3 14 ‎82KT00GVUS Review And Specification

Lenovo Ideapad 3 14 ‎82KT00GVUS Review And Specification

Let's start by talking about some positive aspects of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14 laptop (the 82KT00GVUS model under review). Unlike the majority of low-cost laptops, which only have 4GB, it comes with 8GB of RAM. And a few years ago, the IdeaPad 3 14's full HD (1,920 by 1,080) resolution wouldn't have been available on such a cheap device, which would instead feature a dull 1,366 by 768-pixel display. Did we mention that it comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home? This eliminates the need for you to worry about upgrading from Windows 10, which is found on the majority of budget notebooks.

However, aside from not having the same luxury look, portability, and performance as our Editors' Choice premium ultrabook, the Dell Inspiron 13 5310, this 14-inch is easy to get enthusiastic about. Even though the majority of IdeaPad 3 models are half as expensive as the Dell Inspiron 13, they still offer better performance than the majority of the cheap laptops we've recently examined for browsing, emailing, and doing homework.

The Lenovo 82KT00GVUS is a great purchase if you're looking for a 14-inch that offers almost everything you could want in a budget-friendly notebook, including a full HD display, a sturdy chassis, a comfortable keyboard, and useful port options, all brought together by excellent performance and some pleasant surprises.

Design and Display

Our testing unit's hexa-core AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor, half as much storage (a 256GB SSD), and non-touchscreen with AMD Radeon 7 graphics are no match for the HP Pavilion 15. The IdeaPad 3 is not significantly larger than the Acer Swift 3 (12.73 x 8.62 x 0.63 inches) or the HP 15 Laptop (14.11 x 9.53 x 0.71 inches), two other inexpensive laptops we recently examined. It weighs 4.69 pounds compared to the HP 15's 3.75 pounds, hence it is heavier.

Lenovo Ideapad 3 14 ‎82KT00GVUS Keyword

A USB 3.2 Type-A connector, HDMI, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack are all located on the left edge of the laptop. An SD card reader and a USB 2.0 Type-A port are located on the right side. Even though the majority of people are right-handed, since there aren't many ports there, you can still put an external mouse into the right side.

The display panel appears to be quite colorful, and while the 1080p screen looks fantastic, it isn't bright enough. The colors appear somewhat drab and washed out. The display never appears to be anything other than an economy-class panel while having fair contrast and reasonably clear fine details with no pixelation.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The best keyboards in the business are made by Lenovo, but this is not a ThinkPad. The IdeaPad 3 14 is still among the best cheap laptops you'll use in 2022, though. The keyboard is cozy and has just enough key travel to make pressing keys enjoyable. The power button has a fingerprint reader built into it, and the touchpad is responsive.

The speakers that are situated beneath the touchpad, however, cannot say the same. They sound hollow, uninspiring, and not particularly loud. Use headphones or an additional speaker instead.

 A Battery's Life

While eight and a half hours of battery life on a single charge isn't terrible for a cheap desktop replacement laptop, it falls far short of the endurance of contemporary ultraportables. The Ideapad might not exactly last you a whole day at work or school, but it will surely make it through a work session without an outlet or a break in between classes.
