Lenovo IdeaPad 3 82KT00AMUS Review And Specification

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 82KT00AMUS Review And Specification

Let's start with the positive aspects of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 82KT00AMUS model that we're examining, which are many. It has 8GB of memory, compared to some subpar budget laptops' insufficient 4GB. And not that long ago, a comparable budget device would have featured a display with a paltry 1,366 by 768 pixel resolution rather than the full HD (1,920 by 1,080) resolution of the IdeaPad 14.

The majority of inexpensive laptops, such as the HP 14-fq1021nr and the Acer Aspire 5 (A515-56-50RS model), which are powered by AMD Ryzen 5 and Intel Core i5 chips, respectively, provide nothing special in the way of further features.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is adequate for browsing, email, and homework, but it misses several standard conveniences found in some other budget models we've recently examined, like a backlit keyboard and a USB Type-C connector.

However, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-50RS is a superior 15-inch computer for around the same price, and if you want something a little bit bigger, it's an Editors' Choice winner with a backlit keyboard, respectable port options, and strong overall performance.

A notebook with a dedicated Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card for gaming, such the Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42-R9YN) or the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (82K20015US), will be considerably more pleasurable if you can raise your budget a little.

Design

Our review unit's simple design and lack of distinguishing features make it no match for the sophisticated Asus VivoBook Flip 14. The only thing that sets it apart from the competition is its exclusive Abyss Blue color. Additionally, the rectangular shape with rounded sides and the Lenovo logo emblazoned into a corner feels quality.

The IdeaPad 82KT00AMUS is only slightly larger than standard 14-inch laptops, measuring 0.78 by 12.76 by 8.49 inches, and it weighs only 3.1 pounds. It weighs a pound less than the 3.97-pound Asus VivoBook 15 and the 4.1-pound Acer Aspire 5.

Despite the screen's high bezels and full HD (1920 by 1080) resolution, it appears bright and lively for daily productivity. A privacy shutter that covers the webcam may be slid open by pressing your thumbnail against the top bezel's edge.

Keyboard

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 82KT00AMUS Design

Since this laptop lacks a fingerprint reader or a face-recognition camera for Windows Hello, you'll be inputting passwords on its comfy, numeric keyboard. After all, Lenovo has some of the most comfortable keyboards available, so we appreciate that they included one in their low-cost laptop.

An HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, a power connector, and a retro USB 2.0 port are all located on the left edge of the notebook. Since most people are right-handed, you can connect in an external mouse here since there is just an SD card slot and an audio jack. Sincerely, we didn't anticipate a Thunderbolt 3 port at this cost, but the absence of a USB-C port is a sad oversight.

A Battery's Life

The IdeaPad 3's battery life, which simulates medium to heavy use, lasts only six hours and 43 minutes (instead of the stated eight hours). You may be able to extend the life of the battery even further if you reduce the screen and limit yourself to light web browsing and easier tasks.

The more power-efficient processor is paying off because you should be able to get through the majority of a workday on a full day, which is excellent when compared to certain laptops.
