Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-527S Review And Specification

A moderately powerful gaming laptop that won't break the bank is the most recent Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-527S. The 15.6-inch brilliant screen that comes with it is excellent for gaming and viewing all of your favorite entertainment. Subsequently, it incorporates a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of RAM, which will enable seamless performance of regular computing duties and gaming. You won't have many issues here if you don't mind playing at low to medium settings.

This year's model has a more understated design than some of the previous models, going less for the iconic red and black aesthetic in favor of a more polished appearance that works well almost anywhere. Though not exclusive to Acer, a lot of game consoles have adopted a somewhat simpler look in recent years, and we applaud the move.

All we want for with this Acer Nitro 5 is a slightly thinner design and a slightly longer-lasting battery. The Nitro 5 (2022) is a decent option for those on a tight budget looking for a reliable, if unspectacular, gaming PC despite its flaws. Is this the laptop you should buy to play games? Find out by reading on.

The updated, new design is really nice.

We're glad to see the original black-and-red design of the Nitro 5 replaced with this new all-black scheme with subdued color accents because, for some reason, it was starting to look tired and cliché. The weight is the one aspect that Acer left unchanged: the new Nitro 5 is still heavy, but its bulk allows the hardware to breathe and maintain a cool temperature—even when playing intensive games.

The laptop's bottom temperature can reach approximately 35 degrees Celsius while running games such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This ensures that the laptop stays comfortable on your lap and that the hardware doesn't overheat. Moreover, the fans don't become noisy during gameplay, even in demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, where dialogue and sound effects are audible.

Comfortable Trackpad and Keyboard

The keyboard on the Nitro 5 is designed for speedy typers. The keyboard is large, the keys are a little larger than typical laptop keys, and they have lovely backlighting that makes them more widely spread than typical. The depth of the keys is great, and they depress with just the right amount of force. They are not too delicate to press unintentionally, but they are also not soft on the fingertips.

Three media keys and a dedicated Numpad are located on the right side of the keyboard. The knobs on the F and J keys are more pronounced, and the WASD keys have a distinct, deeper font than other keys, as is the case with most gaming keyboards. It is easier to use in dimly lit areas because of the red illumination, which contrasts with the white underlay lining of the keys.

It is also simple to maneuver around the screen thanks to the large, responsive, and silky trackpad in other places. Its smooth surface minimizes friction, and it registers multi-touch movements quickly. It is fairly responsive. Clicking is precise, although it takes some effort to activate.

The Nitro 5 has numerous USB connections, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet port in case you find yourself in need of using an additional mouse and keyboard. More specifically, you get one HDMI port for USB-A, one USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack.
